Hey guys! I’ve been subscribed to Birchbox for a few months now and I also thought I’d unsubscribe after a couple of boxes but I’ve ended up getting quite excited each month for my box to arrive. This box did not disappoint (though it did get messed up with shipping) and I think I’m going to use every item in this box.
If you didn’t know Birchbox is a monthly beauty subscription service (UK and US) that gives you around 6 products every month and usually 2 full sized products. The box costs £10 each month but you can get 3 month, 6 months and 12 month deals. This month if all the RRP prices are added up (Full sized) it would come up to £96.98 which is amazing value really, because there are usually some top notch brands included! So lets get right into it!
Loc x Millie (Full sized) Ultra-Gloss Lip Pencil in Bohemian Rose| RRP £9
This is a birchbox exclusive collab with Millie Mackintosh (From Made in Chelsea) on this loc product. This is the product I’m probably least impressed about mainly because I’m not a fan of a glossy lip, and the shade which they claim is universally flattering is a little too bright for my taste. But, that’s more my personal preferences and I can see how it’s a fab summery shade. I put this on by itself to try and I think it would look a bit better over a lipstick but it is very smooth and hydrating on the lips so a good product overall!
John Frieda (Full sized) 7 Day Volume In-Shower Treatment| RRP £9.99
Yay I was so excited for this product I absolutely loveeeee John Frieda, especially for volumising products for my flat ass hair! You got to pick before the box was delivered whether you wanted a volumising or anti-frizz product which I really appreciate because if I got a anti-frizz product I would have a bit miffed as I have no need for it. Big thumbs from me, especially because it is full sized as well!
Nails Inc. Nail Varnish in eton avenue| RRP £15
Hmm, I have mixed feelings about this product. I think this is a beautiful shade that I love to wear anyway. Having said that, I have another 3 much cheaper nail varnishes in identical shades, that are also 2 or 3 times the size. This sample is tinyyyy! But I also know that it’s a good nail brand and it is a good travel sized varnish you could pop in your bag, so lets hope it doesn’t chip after two days haha!
Elemis Hydra-Nourish Night Cream| RRP £43
This is such a good quality brand to include in birchbox I am so impressed. Like normally this product is £43 so very pricey, and although this is a sample size I also know from these boxes that these sample sizes last for weeks so I am super excited to use this! I am always in the market for a new nightcream!
Indeed Labs Hydraluron moisture boosting mask| RRP £19.99 for 4
I have never tried a sheet mask before so I have got to say I am very excited for this! In the booklet it says it is a big drink of water for your complexion and god only knows I need that in my life so I’m gonna give a big prayer and hope my skin gets hydrated to the gods! However I just went to try it out and there is one in the packet when I swear it’s says there are 4 on the packet. Also I’ve just got one on now and I feel like I belong in silence of the lambs or something which is both scary and highly entertaining.
Well thats it folks! I really enjoyed this take box because I know I’m going to use every product so I feel like I take full advantage of this box. I wish I knew about a beauty box that purely does makeup items but if you do know of any let me know!
